NOTE: The Manchester, VT Booktopia event is now full. Unfortunately, our waiting
list is full as well.
Manchester, VT
April 20-22, 2012
After the tremendous success of the 2011 retreat, we are thrilled to return to Manchester and to our wonderful partner bookstore and inns.
Northshire Bookstore
Northshire was a fantastic host this past April and everyone who attended the retreat raved about the store. They are looking forward to the BOTNS “hordes” descending on Manchester again. Northshire is a wonderful, rambly store filled with great books and fantastic booksellers. Serious book lovers can (and do!) spend hours browsing and buying. We know this first hand.
Lodging
IMPORTANT: When calling to book a room at any of our partner inns, be sure to tell them you are with the Books on the Nightstand group in order to get the special rate.
The Inn at Manchester

The Inn at Manchester is a lovely bed and breakfast with eighteen guestrooms and is offering Booktopia attendees a special rate of $150 per room, per evening, including breakfast.
To book a room, please call 802-362-1793, or visit their website.
The Palmer House Resort
The Palmer House is a slightly less-expensive option that has more standard “motel-style” accommodation set on beautiful grounds. There’s even a tennis court! The Palmer House is located 1/2 mile from the bookstore, and has easy access to restaurants and shops. The Booktopia rate is $120, and you can book a room by calling 800-917-6245, or visiting their booking site.
The Reluctant Panther Inn
A small luxury hotel, this inn is walking distance to The Inn at Manchester, and approximately 1 mile from Northshire Bookstore. Special room rates range from $149 – $229, depending on room type and whether you want breakfast included. Call 800-822-2331, or click here.
Air Travel
Manchester, Vermont is approximately 4 hours drive time from New York City and Boston. The closest airport to Manchester is Albany, NY, approximately 1-1/2 hours away. We recommend renting a car (check the Booktopia VT folder in our Goodreads Group discussion boards to see about possibly sharing the ride and cost with fellow attendees). Car service from Albany to Manchester can be very pricey.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Do *not* fly into Manchester, New Hampshire. That’s almost 4 hours away from Manchester, VERMONT. They are completely different places.
